PROJECT PORRIDGE
Making A Difference In Our World
WHY?
Project Porridge was established after we identified a real need - malnutrition in children from 0-5 years of age. With our founders, leaders and health professionals living in Uganda, financial support from people like you, and by the grace of God, we are empowered to pursue our mission of helping mothers and children. |
Mission

The Victory School
The Victory School was founded by Maclina, an educator and a very special woman. Maclina saw that many children in her village were not in school or in over-crowded public schools. She decided to address the problem by renting a small building and starting her own Christian-based early education program. With very little money, supplies or staff, she began The Victory School. Educating and feeding about 80 kids every day in a dilapidated (rented) structure with a dirt floor, Maclina was struggling to make ends meet and continue the work God had laid on her heart. Then with a lot of prayer, and some help from old friends, the school was moved to a new location. Project Porridge is proud to partner with The Victory School. We currently provide porridge on a daily basis for the children at The Victory School. Many of the children at the school were already participating in Project Porridge on Saturdays with their mothers. Partnering with the school allows Project Porridge the opportunity to play an even bigger role in these kid's and subsequently, their parent's lives. In 2019, Project Porridge helped The Victory School complete its construction goals of adding new latrines, roofing, and walls to create classrooms. The Victory School is a clean, beautiful, safe place for kids to learn. Kids, and their families, are proud to call it their school. Victories are happening every day at the school. It has prophetically lived up to it's name! |
