WHY A SCHOLARSHIP FUND?
Rwanda suffers from serious deficiencies in terms of trained human capital, especially in the technical professions. The impact of the 1994 genocide, which resulted in the massive loss of an educated and skilled workforce, further compounds the problem. Women are especially vulnerable to poverty and the extreme hardship that accompanies it. Without this opportunity, many young women find it impossible to support themselves and often end up marrying young, becoming parents at a young age, or find themselves on the streets. VISION
